Mental Health

Sandra Catlin is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Oregon.  She sees adults and children for outpatient therapy.  Before starting her private practice in 2018, Sandra worked as a therapist for the Wallowa Valley Center for Wellness, starting in 2014.  Her experience in mental health prior to practicing in Wallowa County includes child welfare, outpatient therapy for children with severe emotional disturbance and for adults with severe mental illness, inpatient treatment in a geropsychiatric facility, and intensive outpatient group therapy for adults.

Sandra enjoys working with children and adults of all ages and specializes in treating clients who have experienced some form of trauma.  Her primary treatment modalities include EMDR, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Child-Parent Psychotherapy, and play therapy.  She is certified in EMDR and in Child-Parent Psychotherapy.

Sandra received her Master of Social Work from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2012.  Other degrees include a Graduate Certificate in Infant/Toddler Mental Health from Portland State University, a B.A. in Economics and Statistics from the University of California, Berkeley, and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of Washington. In addition to her career in mental health, she worked in the outdoor education field for ten years and as a university professor for 21 years.
